Education

Imaginal Education is a vital approach to empowerment. ToP makes education effective by activating learning through methods that link information, images, values and behaviour.

ToP tools can be used for classroom teaching and training, adult education, research,  curriculum design, personal learning and for planning and organizing educational endeavours.
Case Studies

Books written about ToP education include The Art of Focused Conversation for Schools by Jo Nelson and Twelve Roles of Facilitators for School Change by R. Bruce Williams. They include:

Slide038persTLLifeline Reflection helps an individual put into a context the important events of their life. It surfaces insight and important learning and creates a self-story.

This is a private exercise and can take from 20 minutes to several hours depending on the purpose of the personal reflection.

Slide052RaEaRational and Experiential Aims design the overall product and experience of any group intervention, turning it from a meeting into a fine event that people remember and treasure. It takes all the small, mundate topics and arranges them in a way that has maximum positive impact on the group while attaining the outcomes that are needed. This tool is especially important for designing facilitated gatherings, but works for any time of gathering including retreats, conferences, parties, symposia, public meetings.

It take about half an hour in a group, or less time as an individual, to design good outcomes.

Slide041imchangePersonal Image Change allows an individual to discover what is at the root of some of the patterns that the person operates from, regardless of whether the patterns are helplful or unhelpful to the individual. It clarifies the links between behaviour, image, values and messages and empowers the individual with that self-knowledge. This is used with individuals and groups and may take from 45 minutes to several hours.
Slide054SpiralCurrSpiral Curriculum is a development as well as a teaching tool that constantly reinforces learning by revisiting a topic several times but at a deeper level each time. It also conceptualizes how the same topic can be approached from many different perspectives. Spiral curriculum can be used for designing large, year-long sets of curriculum or to create a learning journey for a single item in one training course.

This mental model is used explicitly for overall curriculum development in several hours, and then used again and again during instruction.
Slide047colKaleidKaleidoscope Orchestration gives direct insight into delivering life-changing training and education by covering all of the vital components of the most powerful education. It includes theory, preparation and delivery methods and techniques which can be used in any combination, with the more being used providing the more powerful education.

This tool can be used as a memory device “in the moment” or as a design tool to orchestrate an entire curriculum.
Slide056fourby4A 4-by-4 Impact Presentation empowers a group by giving them a way to prepare powerful presentations together simply and effectively. It then becomes a mnemonic device for delivering that powerful presentation by any individual. It is used for fundraising presentations, lectures and seminars, speeches or any other presentation, and ensures that everyone who makes the presentation has the same underlying message components, but can add their own flourish and style.

A good presentation can be prepared by a group in 30 minutes to two hours, depending on their knowledge of the topic.
